Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IMS Online Reorg Facility V1.3 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Forward fit ORF V1.2 APAR PM87048, * * PM87739 and PM88250 to ORF 1.3 * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR fixes the following problems: - ORF builds an incorrect AMS statement when a reorganized database is allocated on eight or more volumes. The allocation of a shadow data set fails with the following message: IDC0234I WARNING: TOO FEW RIGHT PARENTHESES FOUND AT END OF COMMAND - When online updates are dynamically backed out during a reorganization of an index database, index records can be left undeleted. It causes the following error when pointer checking is done. FABP0326E NUMBER OF INDEX SOURCE < NUMBER OF INDEX POINTER - After IMS V12 APAR PM81488 is applied, the NOTIFY.ALLOC command issued by IMS Online Reorganization Facility fails with the follwoing message when FEOV(N) is specified. DSP0204I INVALID VALUE FOR PARAMETER DSSN When FEOV(N) is specified, ORF sets the DSSN value of NOTIFY.ALLOC command to the same number as the current DSSN. However, after PM81488 is applied, the DSSN value needs to be the next number of the current DSSN when the USID is incremented in the NOTIFY.ALLOC command.
Problem conclusion
This is a forward fit of V1.2 APAR PM87048, PM87739 and PM88250. The following fixes are made. - The logic that generates the VOLUMES parameter of a DEFINE CLUSTER statement are fixed so that it can process eight or more volumes. - The logic that applies the log records are corrected so that the backout records are correctly applied. - Preventive logic that stops reorganization when ORF detects an indication of XCF communication problem is added. - The DSSN value of NOTIFY.ALLOC command is always set to the next number of the current DSSN. ======================== = Documentation Change = ======================== IMS Online Reorganization Facility for z/OS Version 1 Release 3 User's Guide (SC19-3967-00) should be changed as follows: ================================================================ 5.0 Troubleshooting 5.3 Messages and codes 5.3.2 Messages HRF01572E Waiting for database pause has expired Explanation: An attempt to pause the database has timed out.
