MSGFABH0657E is issued when "HPIO YES" is specified in the JCL
for IMS HD Reorganization Unload compatibility mode.
However, the message text and explanations are unsuitable for
the case. Because IMS HD Reorganization Unload compatibility
mode does not support HPIO regardless of whether JOBLIB or
    STEPLIB libraries are APF-authorized.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

Comments

  • The module FABH015 has been modified to issue a warning message
MSGFABH0658W that indicates HP Unload ignores the "HPIO YES"
specification and continues processing when "HPIO YES" is
specified in the JCL for IMS HD Reorganization Unload
    compatibility mode.

    = Documentation Change =
    ========================
IBM IMS High Performance Unload for z/OS, V1R2, User's Guide
(SC27-0936-07) should be changed as follows:
    ================================================================
2.3.7 IMS HD Reorganization Unload JCL for running FABHURG1

     :

      Restrictions
      - The FABHURG1 restrictions that are listed in "Restrictions
for IMS High Performance Unload" in topic 2.1.2 apply to
        this processing.
    | - Media Manager will not become effective for VSAM ESDS,
    | regardless of whether JOBLIB or STEPLIB libraries are
    | APF-authorized. If "HPIO YES" is specified in HSSROPT DD,
    | the specification will be ignored.
      :

    2.9.15 HPIO control statement

    :

When this control statement is not coded and all
concatenations of the JOBLIB or the STEPLIB are
      APF-authorized, Media Manager is used.

    | Restriction
    | - When HP Unload is running with the JCL that is written for
    | IMS HD Reorganization Unload, Media Manager will not become
    | effective for VSAM ESDS. If "HPIO YES" is specified in
    | HSSROPT DD, the specification will be ignored.

    7.2.4.1 FABH messages
    7.2.4.1.xx FABH0658W

     A new message is added.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    |FABH0658W "HPIO YES" IS IGNORED DUE TO IMS HD UNLOAD
    |COMPATIBILITY MODE
    |
    | Explanation: HPIO YES is specified in the HSSROPT DD
    | statement. However, the specification is ignored because IMS
    | HD Unload compatibility mode does not support HPIO statement.
    | System Action: HSSR Engine continues processing.
    | User Response: If you want to use Media Manager for VSAM ESDS,
    | convert the JCL to other than IMS HD Unload compatibility
    | mode. Otherwise, remove "HPIO YES" from the HSSROPT DD
    | statement.
