PM87122: ABENDU1017 AND SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An unload run against an image copy (COPYDDN ) processed as an
  inline image copy (actual inline image copy and option CHECK or
  INLINE option) fails in the image copy SORT phase (with
  subsequent ABENDU1017) because the sort program has run out of
  resources (SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED).  This occurs if the DDLDDN
  option is used and the number of rows in the image copy is much
  bigger than 1000. In such a case, DB2 HPU systematically assumes
  the number of rows to be processed is 1000 (DB2 HPU invokes the
  sort program with FILSZ=E1000) which is not relevant for large
  image copies.
