Error description

  • S0E0 abend in ARYLINKL can occur during DB2 backup taken by
    Recovery Expert after HSM APAR OA41191 has been applied
    
    When you create a system backup that uses the DB2 Backup System
    Utility as the backup method, a S0E0 ABEND in ARYLINKL will
    occur during the backup.
    
    After a backup is created using the DB2 Backup System Utility,
    we then do a LIST COPYPOOL command to determine the source to
    target mappings so that is how we are tied into HSM.  The only
    way to avoid this would be to choose a backup method other than
    DB2 Backup System Utility.
    
    *WARNING DO NOT APPLY HSM APAR OA41191 UNTIL RE APAR PM86735 IS
    AVAIABLE*
    If DFSMSHSM, ISMF  APAR OA41191 (PTF UA67875 for z/OS 1.12 and
    UA67876 for z/OS 1.13) has been applied Recovery Expert PM86735
    must be applied to avoid the S0E0 abend in ARYLINKL during a
    System Level Backup taken by Recovery Expert using the
    DB2 Backup System utility
    NOTE
    The Recovery Expert maintenance can be applied without
    the HSM maintenance, but the HSM maintenance must not
    be applied without the RE maintenance
    
    If a system level BACKUP ( SLB ) is created without the fix for
    OA41191 (PTF's UA67875 and UA67876) and the version has a TOKEN
    that includes one or more trailing spaces, x'FF', or binary
    zeroes, the Recovery Expert backup or offload job may fail.
    
    This can happen because the backup with these tokens is not
    saved to the repository and the offload attempts to use the
    previous backup and the following message is issued: 'ARYS285E -
    HSM Command failed. RC = 00000006. RS = 00000002'.
