Error description
After upgrading to IBM Rational ClearQuest (CQ) Web 7.1.2.10 or 8.0.0.6 (the 2013A patches), clicking on a web-link to enter CQ Web, or if entering CQ Web through an additional web-browser tab, users may experience an Error 500 java.lang.NullPointerException. This affects all supported browsers. Workaround: Clear web-browser cache, and login through only a single window, or a single web-link (single window only open). A more robust workaround exists and can be used prior to the conclusion of this APAR resolution by reviewing the following technote: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21633978 Reproducing the problem: * Use a REST URI to connect to a record in a web browser * Open a web browser, connect to CQ Web, then login. Open a new tab in the web browser and attempt to connect again to CQ Web.

If the web user is already logged in, the URLs work as they should. NOTE - this is a regression introduced in ClearQuest Web 7.1.2.10 and 8.0.0.6.
