PM85581: The load window will freeze when a report is opened from Business Insight via the "Do More" menu

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A user is part of the Cognos role 'Author' and has permissions
    to access Business Insight. However he has no permissions to
    open packages within any studio. When this user creates a
    dashboard via Business Insight, then the user can use the "Do
    More" button in the widget menu. The intention of the "Do More"
    button is to open the widget content within Business Insight
    Advanced, which he cannot access based on his permissions.  When
    the user selects this "Do More" button, a load window appears,
    and the browser window freezes. The user also needs to restart
    the browser or close the browser window, in order to continue.
    It is expected, that the user cannot enter Business Insight
    Advanced through the "Do More" button. However a message should
    be displayed that the user does not have permissions for the
    studio.
