PM85323: AFTER APAR PM76955, MESSAGES WITH AFFINITY, RELOAD AS GARBAGE AFTER A QCF UNLOAD/RELOAD IS DONE 13/04/18 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After APAR PM76955 PTF UK90617, messages with affinity,
  RELOAD as garbage on shared queues after a QCF UNLOAD / RELOAD
  is done. The bad messages cannot be processed or deleted.
  

Local fix

• Use copy/delete and use the copy file to reload the messages.
  Or, if batch, first use the BROWSE function and then do the
  UNLOAD. Therefater, use the BROWSE file to reload the messages.
  These are circumventions until the APAR/PTF is complete.
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: User of QCF3.1 with shared queues.           *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Affinity is lost when messages are      *
  *                      unloaded and then the unload file is    *
  *                      used to load the messages back on the   *
  *                      queue. The destination is preserved,    *
  *                      but the affinity is lost.               *
  *                      UNLOAD function creates TMR segment     *
  *                      without queue name, BROWSE function     *
  *                      creates TMR segment with queue name.    *
  *                      LOAD does not use the queue name in     *
  *                      TMR segment prefix to set the queue.    *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Install the APAR.                            *
  ****************************************************************
  UNLOAD function is changed to preserve the full shared queue
  name (destination plus affinity) in TMR segment, LOAD function
  is changed to set the queue according to TMR segment info
  before inserting the message.
  

Problem conclusion

• Install the APAR to have the affinity preserved on UNLOAD/LOAD.
