Error description

• The DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS' EXEC GOCVT message
  'GOVVT error: TBSAVE of table' tablex 'using ISPPROF failed'
  does not provide enough information or guidance to allow
  customers to resolve the underlying issue.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In DB2 Object Comparison Tool for
                         z/OS, when specifying compare source
                         or target database from the DB2
                         catalog, the program abends and
                         issued an error message which is
                         not user friendly:
  
                         GOVVT error:
                           TBSAVE of table GOCCSDT
                           using ISPPROF failed
  
                         ISPT027 System abend aaaaaaaa
                         - Abend aaaaaaaa encountered
                         while processing table bbbbbbbb
  
    RECOMMENDATION:
  
  In DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS, when specifying
  compare source or target database from the DB2 catalog, the
  program abends due to insufficient space in the ISPPROF data
  set. A user who is not familiar with the ISPF Service TBSAVE
  would not understand the problem based on the error message
  displayed.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem has been resolved. An explanation of the error message
  has been added and will be displayed on panel GOCMENU 'Save
  Dialog':
  
  GOCVT error: TBSAVE of table GOCCTDT using ISPPROF
               failed with RC= 20.
  
  Explanation: A system abend occurred while specifying
  source/target, if the abend code indicates insufficient
  space in the ISPPROF data set(>HLQ<.ISPF.PROFILE , try
  either deleting unneeded members, compress the data set
  or both.
