Error description

  • EDM Utilization metric in the TEP showed 0.0 even though Classic
shows EDM pages in use (for the same DB2 subsystem shown in
TEP). The formula for the TEP attribute shows (number of EDM
pages allocated divided by total number of EDM pages) so the
question is why is the 0.0 showing and consequently how valid is
the threshold that fires off this attribute

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
In DB2 version 10 EDM pool for plans and packages was
deprecated but Omegamon EDMU exception, "Pages in Use%" field
in HEDS command output in NTH and EDM fields in TEP were still
based on EDM pool for plans and packages.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The logic was changed to process database descriptors (DBDs)
pool in EDMU exception and EDM fields in TEP for DB2 version 10
and above. "Pages in Use%" field in HEDS command output in NTH
will not be displayed for DB2 version 10 and above.

After applying this PTF, the following attributes will reflect
DBD pool for DB2 v10:
- attribute 'EDM Utilization', 'EDM Total Pages', and
'EDM Current Pages' in attribute group 'DB2 System States'
- attribute 'Total Pages', 'In Use Pages', 'Free Pages' in
attribute group 'DB2 SRM EDM'

Problem conclusion
