Problem summary
USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool or DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS, who use the ALT 'Alter Table ALT' function or Compare function to alter column data types of tables that are defined with the DATA CAPTURE CHANGES attribute on DB2 9 or above. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When altering column data types of tables that are defined with the DATA CAPTURE CHANGES attribute on DB2 9 or above, the tables are dropped and recreated and should be altered. RECOMMENDATION: When altering column data types of tables that are defined with the DATA CAPTURE CHANGES attribute on DB2 9 or above, the tables should be altered instead of dropped and recreated.
