Error description

  • When DOORS data that includes a list, is being processed by RPE
and if certain styles are being applied through RPE by using a
Word stylesheet, there is a deviation seen at the Word output as
against a direct export of the same data from DOORS to Word. The
deviation is that the containing the list in the Word output,
    are broken.

Attached are some documents for reference and testing.

Styles incorrectly applied in RPE 1.2 for List elements

Problem conclusion

  • The defect is broken down to 3 issues.
    1. Bullet/numbering text is added in DOORS module data.
While designing the template, "Body Note" style from word
stylesheet document is applied. The issue is that the
background color is lost for bullet text.
This work as designed from MS Word. Perform the same action
manually on the word document to see the same behavior.

Fixed the indentation and background color for data from
DOORS. However, the background color for bullet text "works
    as designed from MS Word".

When a bullet/numbering text is added in DOORS module data,
the background color is lost when a style from stylesheet
    document is applied in RPE.
This work as designed from MS Word. Perform the same action
manually on the word document to see the same behavior.

    2. Object text in DOORS has an indentation (for eg, tab).
The indentation is not seen correctly in the RPE generated
    document.
RPE wasn't considering the existing indentation while
calculation new indent value. The fix is to consider any
current indentation value before calculating the new indent
    value.

    3. If the object text has empty line, there is a break in
background color of the generated document before on the new
    line.
"Body Note" style (any style for that matter) was not
getting applied at paragraph level for a new line. This
    scenario is handled now.
