    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: GDPS Global Mirror monitor can issue *
    * REXX errors and stop SMF recording in *
    *                      following conditions:                   *
    * -1 Negative value in binary fields *
    *                       -2 Hexadecimal session number value    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    -1 Instantaneous RPO negative value:
    Instantaneous RPO is computed by substracting CurrentSCntlClock
    value from LastGoodCGSCntlClock value. Under certain
    circumstances this operation can lead to negative result.
    In such conditions, the monitor interval should be considered as
    an invalid record instead of generating a REXX error and
    stopping SMF recording.
    -2 Global Mirror session value:
    ANTP7012I SNbr session number value can be 00 to FF.
    GDPS Global Mirror monitor code accepts only decimal value
    for this field.

Problem conclusion

  • GDPS Global Mirror monitor code has been changed to:
    - Check instantaneous RPO value and avoid negative value.
    - Issue message GEO631E msgnum 9002 when this exception occurs.
    - Set SMF record session flag.
    - Update internal conversion routine to support hexadecimal
      session number value.
