Error description

  • ABEND0C4 CSQSHGMN +0000053C occurs per Level 3 during expiry
processing (CSQIEXP2) against a shared queue which contains
SMDS messages. CSQIMGES is expecting there to be a MMC_SEG_PROPS
segment in the passed MDDI however, CSQIEXP2 has not set
one up, leading to the abend.

An application is writing messages with properties to a
shared queue, which is associated with a CF structure using
SMDS.
When the expiry interval is hit, CSQIEXP2 is invoked to scan
the queue for expired messages. It calls CSGIMGES to handle
the shared queue messages, but doesn't pass a MMC_SEG_PROPS
segment. This means that when CSQSHGMN is subsequently called
it doesn't have a valid address causing the ABEND0C4.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • CSQIEXP2 has been altered to add a MMC_SEG_PROPS to the MDDI
passed to CSQIMGES.
