PM79009: WHEN ALTERING A TABLE, THE JOB OUTPUT LISTS RC0 EVENTHOUGH AN SQLCODE=-805 IS ISSUED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When performing an ALT on the DB2 sample table DEPT and dropping
  two columns, the job passes with a return code 0 eventhough
  there is an SQLCODE=-805 error in the job.  The job should have
  failed with return code 8 due to the SQL error.

  In DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS, when users use the GEN
  function, the job output lists RC0 / Return Code 0 even though
  program ADB2ZP returns an SQLCODE=-805 / SQLCODEN805.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem has been resolved. When users use the GEN function, the
  job output lists RC1000 / Return Code 1000 and issues an error
  message ADB1951E when program ADB2ZP returns a SQLCODE=-805 /
  SQLCODEN805.
  
  If an error occurs when calling program ADB2ZP to get DSNZPARM
  parameters via the DB2 supplied stored procedure
  SYSPROC.DSNWZP, the following error message will be issued:
  
  ADB1951E
    An error occurred when the GEN component called the
  ADB2ZP program to get the DB2 system parameter (DSNZPARM)
  values.
  
  System action:
    No system action is taken.
  
  User response:
    See the error that was written in the log file by the
  ADB2ZP program. Resolve the problem and retry.
