Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All QMF for TSO/CICS V10.1 users running * * with DB2 for z/OS CCSID 420. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: QMF users running with DB2 for z/OS * * CCSID 420 will find that they can never * * eliminate QMF informational startup * * message MSGDSQ10344 'GDDM code page * * (351) does not match CCSIDs in use for * * this database(xxxx).' * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** GDDM will not allow the setting of APPCPG to 420 as it does not support the Arabic code page 420. For Arabic, GDDM recommends modifying ADMDATRN and leaving APPCPG set to 351. During QMF initialization, QMF will compare the value of the GDDM APPCPG value to the DB2 for z/OS CURRENT APPLICATION ENCODING SCHEME special register and then the SYSIBM.SYSTEM_EBCDIC_CCSID session variable prior to issuing the DSQ10344 informational message. In the case of Arabic, the GDDM APPCPG value will never match the DB2 for z/OS CCSID information, so the DSQ10344 will always be issued. There is no way the user can eliminate the QMF message.
Problem conclusion
Module DSQIDOPT has been modified to not issue DSQ10344 if the DB2 for z/OS CCSID is set to 420.
