PM77282: RESOURCE UNAVAILABLE REASON 00C90086 ZLDICT01/PFTXTN01 -- ONLINE LOAD

Error description

• DSNT501I messages appear when running LOAD with SHRLEVEL CHANGE.
  Before running LOAD, customer starts the spaces with ACCESS(UT)
  which only allows DB2 online utilities to access.

  But these resource unavailable messages do not make the online
  LOAD terminates or abends. Only thing abnormal is that when the
  second kind of DSNT501I message appears, LOAD dose not build the
  dictionary for the target TS/Partition and loaded data is not
  compressed.

  *                      for CORRELATION-ID=021.ZLDICT01 during  *
  *                      compression dictionary build operation  *
  *                      for LOAD with SHRLEVEL CHANGE. Reason   *
  *                      code RC00C90086 will be seen and the    *
  *                      compression dictionary is not built.    *
  *                      CORRELATION-ID=010.PFTXTN01 failures    *
  *                      may also occur. Note that the LOAD      *
  *                      will complete processing successfully   *
  *                      but the rows will not be compressed.    *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  The Compress on Insert feature allows the DB2 compression
  dictionaries to be built on the fly during INSERT operations.
  LOAD utility with SHRLEVEL CHANGE is handled the same way as
  SQL INSERT operations and running this utility will also build
  the compression dictionaries on the fly. In the case where the
  START DATABASE with ACCESS(UT) command is done prior to running
  LOAD with SHRLEVEL CHANGE, the dictionary build will fail
  on reason code 00C90086. This is due to the asynchronous
  dictionary build task conflicting with the DBET Utility access
  only state (UT).
  

Problem conclusion

• DB2 code has been corrected to build the compression
  dictionaries synchronously under the LOAD SHRLEVEL CHANGE
  utility task when the UT state is set.
