PM76477: Can't remove symbol character within CCM_NUMBER web type value

Rational Change Fix Pack 8 (5.2.0.8) for 5.2

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer is on Change 5.2.0.5 and does the following steps:
  
  1.  Enter a numeric value in any of the fields ( web type
  CCM_NUMBER)
  
  2.  Remove the numeric value and give any special character ,
  then it
  shows an error of, 'Invalid number format, entered data is not a
  
  number.' Now the special character is cleared out from the
  field.
  
  3.  Now Click on save directly after clicking ok on the error
  message
  from step 2. This will be saved.
  
  4.  Click on show CR and check for the field. It will show the
  value
  which was entered in step 1, but we have removed the numeric
  value in
  step2. Why did the numeric value got stored?
  
  As per step 2 remove the value and given a special character.

• Fixed in Rational Change 5.2.0.8 and planned for Rational
  Change 5.3.0.5
