Error description

• The IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client Command-Line Interface
  (CCRC CLI / rcleartool) was rewritten in version 8.0.0.3 and
  8.0.0.4 to have an expanded feature set compared with prior
  versions of rcleartool. These latest versions have been observed
  to load directory elements and small files slower than the
  graphical CCRC interface or applications built with the CM API.
  
  Steps to reproduce: Load numerous directories and/or small files
  using rcleartool and compare the results to CCRC.
  
  Workaround: The issue affects rcleartool 8.0.0.3 and higher.
  CCRC and the custom applications built with the CM API are not
  affected.

  Measurement of the time taken to load various collections of
  elements into the view show that recent versions of
  rcleartool perform this load noticably slower than the
  graphical CCRC interface or applications built with the CM
  API.  This was a reproducible result, and analysis was done
  to find algorithms which could be improved.
  

Problem conclusion

• This is fixed in ClearCase 8.0.0.5.
