    Problem summary ?
    USERS AFFECTED:?
Users of RequisitePro client for Web (RequisiteWeb) working
with requirements with external trace relationships to
requirements in other projects which the user do not have
    access to.
    ?
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
User encounters an error message when trying to modify a
requirement with external trace relationship to a project
the user has no access to. The error message is vague and
does not inform the user on this behavior.

RequisiteWeb requires the user to have access to the
external projects when modifying a requirement with external
trace relationships, as each time a requirement is modified
the trace may need to be marked as suspect by RequisiteWeb
    in both projects involved.

In this situation the message that RequisiteWeb presents
states that the user does not have permissions to modify the
requirement. This is not true, the user has permissions to
modify the local requirement but the fact that it has no
access to the external requirement is what caused the
operation to fail. The message should be clear explaining
    this is the case.

Problem conclusion

  • Problem conclusion
RequisiteWeb code was updated, showing a more descriptive
error message and the suggested course of action to the
    user.
The modification was included in RequisiteWeb version
    7.1.2.9 and 7.1.3.5.
