PM72185: vcxproj file extension not on list of default file extensions when adding it within a 'manual' application

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• vcxproj file extensions are not on the list of default file
  extensions when adding it within a 'manual' AppScan Source
  application.
  
  To reproduce the issue, do the following:
  
  1. First, download any of the VS 2010 C++ sample:
  http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/vcsamples
  NOTE: I tested with 'Events'
  
  2. Apply the workaround required for scanning Microsoft Visual
  Studio 2010 C++ (listed in the release notes):
  
  To be able to scan Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 C++ solutions,
  you must first copy the
  ?visual_studio_install_dir?\Common7\Tools\ProjectComponents
  directory (where ?visual_studio_install_dir? is the location of
  your Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 installation) to
  ?install_dir?\bin (where ?install_dir? is the location of your
  Security AppScan Source installation). When doing this, you must
  copy the entire ProjectComponents folder (as opposed to its
  contents).
  
  3. Using AppScan Source for Analysis, create an application
  (.paf) file, then right-click and choose 'Add Project? -?
  'Existing project'. You will notice that the list of file
  extensions do not include 'vcxproj' so by default, those file
  extensions will not be listed. Users will have to choose the
  drop-down and change to the wildcard character (*.*) to see all
  files, but this should not be necessary.

  does not look for files with the .vcxproj extension.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fixed in version 8.7.
