  *                      numeric columns in a QMF form, the      *

  *                      552: Bad arithmetic conversion          *

  *                      is received when the LAYOUT FORM        *
  *                      command is issued.                      *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  The REXX EXEC *.SDSQEXCE(DSQAEL0A) processes the *Z and *C edit
  codes (LZ, PZ, DCZ, etc.) as numeric values.  It tries to add
  the Z, C, or ZC to another numeric value and fails with
  "Bad arithmetic conversion".
  Code was written to anticipate only edit codes like L2.
  

Problem conclusion

• Logic was amended in DSQAEL0B to avoid performing arithmetic
  operations on nonnumeric data.
  
  A blank will appear in the laid out form for any columns that
  have been assigned *Z or *C edit codes.
