Error description

  • This APAR adds the Address Space Cpu time to the output of
DFH0STAT. This shows how much cpu time has been used since
CICS was started in the partition. Please note that the
reported TCB cpu times are subject to resets as documented in
the CICS TS for VSE/ESA Performance Guide.

It also increases the sizes of the LSR Buffer and the Data and
Index displays to avoid losing significant digits.

The Dispatcher and TCB start times are changed to show Local
time and not GMT (the assumed TOD clock value) in order to match
other Local times that are displayed by DFH0STAT.

Peak Queued User transactions is added to the report. This is
the peak number of concurrent transactions delayed by MXT.

    ****************************************************************
The Dispatcher subreport shows TCB cpu time values, but they
only account for a percentage of the cpu time used by the
    whole CICS partition.

The Dispatcher subreport start times show GMT not local time
as shown everywhere else in the report and can be confusing.

The LSR Pools subreport will truncate values greater than
    99,999,999.

The Transaction Manager subreport shows the number of MXT waits
that have occurred, but does not show the peak number of
concurrent waits, which would be useful when determining how
much bigger the MXT value should be.

Problem conclusion

  • The Dispatcher subreport start times have been changed to
display local time and not GMT.

The LSR Pools subreport has been changed to edit values
up to 10 digits, which corresponds to the maximum number of
    digits maintained by VSE/VSAM.

The following enhancements have been added:

The peak number of tasks delayed by MXT has been added to the
    Transaction Manager subreport.

    Peak Queued User transactions. . . . . . : n

The accumulated cpu time used by the whole CICS partition since
it was started has been added to the Dispatcher subreport.

    Accumulated CPU Time . . . : hh:mm:ss.nnnnn (Not Reset)

The CICS TS for VSE/ESA Performance Guide SC33-1667-02 has been
changed in Appendix B Transaction Manager and Dispatcher Report
on page 324 to add the two new print lines.

    Transaction Manager
      . . .
      Current Queued User transactions . . . . : 0
      Peak Queued User transactions. . . . . . : 0
      . . .

    Dispatcher
      . . .
      Current PRTYAGING time . . : 32,768ms
      Accumulated CPU Time . . . : 00:00:00.64606 (Not Reset)
Number of active CICS TCBs : 2
