PM69032: COGADMIN PERFORMANCE ISSUE TO RETRIEVE ACTIVITIES INFORMATION

Error description

• The admin page is constructed to filter the output of the
  current activities/and others by time period (default 4 hours)
  and number of activities (default 15).  To improve productivity,
  people often change the list length to 999 (maximum allowed) to
  avoid pagination.  This works fine for report pagination.
  However, this setting also apply to admin pages.   When the
  system is in trouble, administrators often go to admin page to
  check the system status.   The system like BACC just has too
  many activities in the short period of the time,  this lead to
  large queries to retrieve all current activities/past
  activities/upcoming activities.  We saw a query to retrieve
  report names of 600 saved output, and many of them are in
  personal folder area that involves permission check.  The query
  is non blocking, therefore causes no harm to the system
  directly, however, the load it put on the system is not disable
  as the system is already under stress.  Often, the admin page
  comes back blank because we did not wait long enough for the
  result to come back.  The query runs over 10 mins in the log.
