PM68199: ABEND U3999 FROM CONFIRMATION PANEL EQQMSJRP WHEN AN SJR ROW COMMAND IS ISSUED FROM PANEL 5.3 ( EQQMOPRV)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When using advanced ISPF panels ( dialog option 0.8 panel
  EQQXPSTL hasAdvanced ISPF panels  ===> Y ) if the 5.3
  panel ( EQQSOPFP) is filtered to show only error status
  ( STATUS            ==> E ) and the resulting panel
  EQQMOPRV ( OPERATIONS IN THE CURRENT PLAN ) displays only one
  line (only one operation in error), then if an SJR row command
  is issued for this operation, and then Y is entered in the
  confirmation panel EQQMSJRP ( CONFIRM RESTART OF ANOPERATION )
  then an abend U3999 occurs and the user is taken completely
  out of the TWS z/OS dialog with message:

  The ABEND U3999 occurs under specific coditions, when using
  the enhanced panels. The list obtained by selecting the
  fields on the filter panel, should be made by one unique row.
  The problem occurs trying to free an already freed storage
  area. The ABEND can also be S0C4 if that specific storage
  area has been reused.
  

Problem conclusion

• A RC=8 from panel display, on panel refresh after SJR, was
  not correctly handled, causing a duplicated free of a storage
  buffer used for dynamic panel area.
