Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool for * * z/OS who use ADMIN CHECK DATA statements * * in Work Statement Lists (WSL) and who have * * migrated databases from DB2 R710 to DB2 10 * * New Function mode (NFM). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS * * failed to trim the trailing blanks * * from database and tablespace names * * retrieved from the DB2 catalog * * when translating an ADMIN CHECK * * DATA statement, and the database * * and/or tablespace contain trailing * * blanks due to a migration of the * * object from DB2 R710 NFM or earlier * * and persists through DB2 10 NFM. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS failed to trim the trailing blanks from database and tablespace names retrieved from the DB2 catalog when translating an ADMIN CHECK DATA statement, and the database and/or tablespace contain trailing blanks due to a migration of the object from DB2 R710 and earlier to DB2 10 NFM. When running the following statement via ADBTEP2: ADMIN CHECK DATA TABLE 'XXXX'.'XXXXXXX_TBL' this translated to the following statement: CHECK DATA TABLESPACE XXXX.XXXXXXX SORTDEVT SYSDA where XXXX is the database name and XXXXXXX is the tablespace name containing the table indicated in the ADMIN CHECK DATA statement. As the database was created prior to DB2 R810 NFM, the value stored in the NAME column of the SYSIBM.SYSDATABASE has trailing blanks. The blanks trailing the database name in the statement caused the following error in the CHECK utility: INVALID OPERAND '.XXXXXXX' FOR KEYWORD 'CHECK' SORTNUM 4 ERRDDN(IOCERR) WORKDDN(IOCWRK1,IOCWRK2) UTILITY EXECUTION TERMINATED, HIGHEST RETURN CODE=8
