* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 01.cancel search does not stop          *
*                         z/OS UNIX search on host             *
*                      02.disconnect takes 30 minutes, which   *
*                         stalls freeing data set locks        *
*                      03.RDz host caches data structures      *
*                         created for MVS-related actions. The *
*                         accumulation of the data structures  *
*                         can cause Out Of Memory errors.      *
*                      04.Not all OpenRSE errors are logged in *
*                         rsecomm.log                          *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

01.z/OS UNIX file Search is not canceled by the client UI on
   disconnect
02.disconnect takes 30 minutes, which stalls freeing data set
   locks
03.RDz host caches data structures created for MVS-related
   actions. The accumulation of these data structures can cause
   Out Of Memory errors.
04.Not all OpenRSE errors are logged in rsecomm.log

Problem conclusion

  • 01.problem is resolved
02.resolved by OpenRSE Bug 388873 - ServerUpdateHandler _senders
   list should be synchronized
   resolved by OpenRSE Bug 390681 - need to merge differences
   between HEAD stream & 3.2 in ConnectionEstablisher.finished()
03.RDz host now discards older data structures (using the SPIRIT
   mechanism).
04.Now, the log problem is resolved
