    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A message is needed to indicate when a *
    * queue manager is about to expire from *
    *                      a cluster.                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
A new error message is needed, to warn the full repository queue
manager's administrator of the condition, if a CLUSRCVR channel
has not been re-published to full repositories by its owning
    queue manager.

The causes of this error condition are most likely to be
channel errors, which have their own error messages.

However, the administrator wants to know whether their cluster
is healthy and a new error message will be written to
emphasize the problems that could occur in the cluster, if the
problem is not investigated and corrected.

Problem conclusion

  • A new error message, CSQX469E, is added to WebSphere MQ for
    z/OS.

FFSTs will be issued 30 days into the grace period, for one day
only, in case the CSQX469E messages have gone unnoticed.

The new error message is as follows, and needs to be added to
    the manuals.

+CSQX469E cpf CSQXREPO Update not received for CLUSRCVR channel
&1 hosted on queue manager &2 in
cluster &3, expected &4 days ago, &5 days remaining

    There are several possible responses:
    1. If the channel had been removed intentionally, and is no
longer required, you should consider removing it fully via the
    RESET CLUSTER command.
    2. There is a long-running problem with the local queue
manager's CLUSRCVR in cluster &3. If this is true, then correct
the problem urgently, to ensure that updates for the cluster are
    received.
    3. There is a long-running problem on the remote queue manager's
CLUSSDR in cluster &3. If this is true, then correct the problem
urgently, to ensure that updates for the cluster are sent.
    4. Check that the repository manager on the remote queue manager
    has not ended abnormally.
    5. The remote queue manager is out of step with this queue
manager, potentially due to a restore of the queue manager from
a backup. The remote queue manager must issue REFRESH CLUSTER to
synchronise with other queue managers in the cluster.
    6. If the above items have been checked, and this problem
persists over several days (causing repeats of this error
message in the local queue manager's error logs) then contact
    your IBM support center.
