IMS PA storage manager routine is being recursively called
in a short-on-storage situation when a suitable qualifying
transaction entry is not correctly identified.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • IMS PA acquires storage for non-transaction data using
the same queues as transaction data.
When IMS PA is short on storage it frees transaction-related
entries from the queue, however these are incorrectly
being masked by the non-transaction data.
Solution is to correctly traverse all queue entries until a
qualifying transaction entry can be found, and released.

more to the tune of REGION=500M is better.
