Error description

  • This APAR will address the following issues:
    - The CEX IVP does not support messages exit HWSSMPL0.
    - If OTMA degraded performance for Global Warning is active,
IMS only sets a degraded status of Global Warn. CEX Routing
will continue to send messages to a datastore in Global Warn
status if that is the only choice available. Currently, IMS
does not set Global Fail so it is possible to abend IMS.
    - CEX Rules Based Routing does not provide an option to have CEX
send an RSM to the client when there are no available
candidates. Transaction routing supplies and option to
return the message to IMS Connect with the original datastore
or to reject the message with an RSM. If the client is using a
Generic datastore name and it is returned to IMS Connect,
MSGHWSS0742W is issued because the generic datastore name is
      not known to IMS Connect.
    - ODBM Alias names may not be shown in the Status Monitor Screen
if the IMS level is V12.

    ****************************************************************
This APAR will address the following issues:
1.The CEX IVP does not support messages exit HWSSMPL0.
2.If OTMA degraded performance for Global Warning is active,
IMS only sets a degraded status of Global Warn.
CEX Routing will continue to send messages to a datastore
in Global Warn status if that is the only choice available.
Currently, IMS do not set Global Fail so it is possible to
    abend IMS.
3.CEX Rules Based Routing does not provide an option to have
CEX send an RSM to the client when there are no available
    datastore candidates available.
Transaction routing supplies and option to return the
message to IMS Connect with the original datastore or to
reject the message with an RSM.
If the client is using a Generic datastore name and it is
returned to IMS Connect, Message HWSS0742W is issued
because the generic datastore name is not known to
    IMS Connect.
4.ODBM Alias names may not be shown in the Status Monitor
Screen if the IMS level is V12.
5.Changed code to correctly determine cache element data
    length.

Problem conclusion

  • 1.Add 4 new test cases to the IVP that are the same as test
    cases 1 - 4 but that use exit HWSSMPL0.
2.A new Option is added to the CEXROUTE command that allows
the ability to treat the Global Warn condition as if it
    was a Global Fail condition.
If this option is chosen, CEX Routing will not
route to a datatore that is in Global Warn status.
3.A new option of the CEXROUTE command is provided that
provides the ability to have CEX return an RSM to the
client and prevent the HWSS0742W message.
4.Changed the routine that displays ODBM Alias names for
the Status Monitor to include IMS V12 in the search.
5.Changed code to correctly determine cache element data
    length.
