Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 and V8.5 Session Initiation * * Protocol (SIP) Container * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Sending a large SIP request that * * exceeds the MTU value does not cause * * a transport switch from UDP to TCP. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** An exception is being thrown when a package exceeds the MTU value and a certain custom property ("javax.sip.strict.outbound.local.port") is false which is its default value. This flag does not allow to send a package over a listening point that is different from the one mentioned in the SIP message. In our case the "if" statement that checks the custom property value was supposed to throw the exception on "javax.sip.strict.outbound.local.port" having a true value and not false.
Problem conclusion
The erroneous "if" statement was changed. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.4 and 8.5.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
