PM64749: ClearQuest 'Invalid Credentials' error from CTE reported after login in CCRC WAN server with 'Store Credentials' checked

Error description

  • Headline:
    Logging in a ClearQuest database in CTE after logging in the
    CCRC WAN server with 'Store Credentials' checked results in an
    'Invalid Credentials' ClearQuest error.
    
    APAR Description:
    In ClearTeamExplorer user selects a web view in a UCM project
    integrated with ClearQuest connected to schema repository
    ?SchRep1?.
    After user has successfully authenticated against the CCRC WAN
    server, and also successfully against the ClearQuest database
    with 'Store Credentials' checked, if then user tries from within
    the CTE to access *another* schema repository ?SchRep2?, user
    gets the following error window:
    
    Error
    An error has occurred. See details for additional information.
    Incorrect user name or password for schema repository ?SchRep2?.
    Please try again.
    CRVSV0901I ClearQuest login of user: CRVSV0775E This login is
    forbidden:
    CRMMD1881E Invalid Credentials: Either the login or the password
    is incorrect.
    OK
    
    After clicking OK, a traditional login screen is prompted to the
    user, but it continues looping no matter how many time the
    correct userid and password are entered.
    
    
    WORKAROUND:
    1. Right-click on the schema repository you cannot connect to
    (in the above steps, ?SchRep2?), select 'Clear Stored
    Credentials' and try again.
    2. First connect to all the schema repositories that you would
    like to check, and only then authenticate against the CCRC WAN
    server.
