PM61885: OPTIONS FIELDS IN PANEL ADB2UTC ARE INPUT INHIBITED AND CONTAIN RESIDUAL VALUES NOT HELPFUL FOR MIG MIGRATE FUNCTION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Users of DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS who use MIG function
  and UO option to update utilities options for LOAD find residual
  values in panel ADB2UTC in fields that are input inhibited.
  

Local fix

• A circumvention is to:
  1.  start DB2  Admin Tool
  2.  In "DB2 Administration Menu, panel ADB2, issue this command:
      PANEL ADB2UTC
  3.  In panel ADB2UTC, blank out any unwanted fields
  4.  Press Enter
  5.  Press PF3 to resume normal Admin functions

  *                      function and choose the option 'UO -    *
  *                      Customize utility options' on           *
  *                      panel ADB28M 'Migrate Parameters',      *
  *                      then on panel ADB2UOPS 'Change          *
  *                      Utilities Options' choose the 'L -      *
  *                      Load' option to invoke panel ADB2UTC    *
  *                      'Specify Utility Options - LOAD'.       *
  *                      Most parameters on panel ADB2UTC        *
  *                      are input inhibited and some of         *
  *                      the input inhibited parameters          *
  *                      have residual values generated          *
  *                      outside MIG.                            *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  To prevent unexpected problems during MIG, when the UNLOAD is
  invoked by MIG, the following parameters on panel ADB2UTC can
  be updated:
  
  FLASHCOPY
  KEEPDICTIONARY
  REUSE
  ENFORCE
  SORTDEVT
  SORTNUM
  
  Also, any input inhibited fields containing residual values
  are cleared.

• Problem has been resolved.
