Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7 and V8. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Undefined variable references in name * * space binding configurations cause * * server start-up failure. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Undefined variable references in name space binding configurations cause server start-up failure. Errors of severity this low should trigger warning messages but not prevent a server from starting.
Problem conclusion
Undefined variable references are now handled properly when reading name space binding, foreign cell binding, and custom property configuration data. Undefined variable references are noted as warning messages in the system log. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.25 and 8.0.0.4.
