Error description

  • Users of DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS can experience LOAD
failure when using HPU UNLOAD with FORMAT INTERNAL which also
generates FORMAT DSNTIAUL in LOAD control statements. Users that
cause DROP / CREATE scenarios via ALT or DB2 Object Compare Tool
( compid 5697g6400 ) are affected only when using HPU and
    FORMAT INTERNAL .
    .
    Error message appears similar to:
    .
    DSNU049I 065 08:45:11.92 DSNUGPRS - INVALID OPERAND
     'INTERNAL' FOR KEYWORD 'FORMAT'

Local fix

  • remove FORMAT DSNTIAUL from the HPU control
statements when FORMAT INTERNAL is used.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When using DB2 Administration Tool or DB2 Object Comparison
Tool for z/OS to change a column from NULLABLE to NOT NULLABLE,
or from NOT NULLABLE TO NULLABLE, FORMAT INTERNAL should be
turned off for HPU UNLOAD in the apply job because the table's
definition has been changed which does not satisfy FORMAT
    INTERNAL.

Additionally, when using HPU UNLOAD with FORMAT INTERNAL, the
UNLOAD statement produced has the wrong syntax that requests
LOADDDN SYSPUNCH in the DSNTIAUL format but OUTDDN SYSREC in
the INTERNAL format which led to the failure of the LOAD
utility because the keywords 'FORMAT INTERNAL' were
incorrectly generated with 'EBCDIC' and 'CCSID' in the LOAD
    control statement.
