PM61242: ATTACHMENTS CANNOT BE ADDED AFTER USER SESSION IS TIMED OUT IN CQWEB

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Attachments cannot be added after a user session is timed out in
    ClearQuest Web 7.1.x.
    
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Log on ClearQuest Web and open a Submit form of record type
    'Defect'.
    2. If in tabbed view, switch to 'Attachments' tab and make sure
    that the form controls have been loaded.
    3. Wait till the session is timed out.
    4. Click the 'Add' button to add a file, an error prompt appears
    but without actual message. After dismissing the error prompt,
    the process seems to be successful but no file is listed. Also
    notice that the 'Remove' button becomes enabled.
    5. Do any actions such as 'Save' which will prompt for re-login
    and re-login ClearQuest Web.
    6. Repeat step 4 and observe that the symptom is the same.
    7. The record can only be saved without attachments or discard
    completely.

    saved without attachments or discarded completely.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available in ClearQuest 7.1.2.9 and 8.0.0.5.
    
    After a ClearQuest Web user session has timed out, a relogin
    dialog appears and attachments can be added to a record.
