• This APAR enables Advanced ACBGEN to support IMS Catalog
  enhancements.
    The Advanced ACBGEN enables the followings:
     - The Advanced ACBGEN can generate ACB members which include
  metadata.
     - The Advanced ACBGEN can be used as functional replacement
  for the IMS provided ACBGEN when ACB Generation and Catalog
  Populate utility (DFS3UACB) generates ACB members.

  The two enhancements of IMS ACBGEN for the IMS catalog were
  provided by IMS APAR PM42908, PM42909 and others.
  
  One is that a new utility, the ACB Generation and Catalog
  Populate utility (DFS3UACB), was provided. It calls the IMS
  provided ACBGEN utility (DFSUACB0) to generate ACB members and
  then, in the same job step, calls the IMS Catalog Populate
  utility (DFS3PU00) to populate the IMS catalog with records that
  
  correspond to the generated ACB members.
  This APAR provides the following enhancements to support the
  new utility.
  - The Advanced ACBGEN can be used as functional replacement for
    the IMS provided ACBGEN utility when the ACB Generation and
    Catalog Population utility generates ACB members.
    To run the Advanced ACBGEN utility instead of IMS provided
    ACBGEN utility when the ACB Generation and Catalog Population
    utility generates ACB members, need to modify the followings
    to the JCL for ACB Generation and Catalog Population utility.
    For details about the JCL of ACB Generation and Catalog
    Population utility, see the latest IMS System Utilities for
    the IMS V12.
    - A STEPLIB DD statement or a JOBLIB DD statement must be
      provided. The data set name specified in this DD statement
      must be the name of the load module library containing the
      Advanced ACBGEN utility. IMS RESLIB must be concatenated
      behind the DD statement containing the Advanced ACBGEN
      utility.
    - A DFSRESLB DD statement must be provided regardless of the
      APF-authorization of the STEPLIB DD. This statement points
      to the IMS RESLIB.
  - The Advanced ACBGEN utility invoked by the ACB Generation and
    Catalog Population utility can optionally output a list of
    the generated ACBs to a data set referenced by the ACBCATWK
    DD statement same as IMS provided ACBGEN utility does. For
    details about the ACBCATWK DD statement, see the latest IMS
    System Utilities for the IMS V12.
  
  The other is that IMS provided ACBGEN utility(DFSUACB0) supports
  
  a new DD statement, ACBCATWK DD. The IMS Catalog Populate
  utility (DFS3PU00) reads ACBCATWK DD to reduce the time to
  populate the IMS catalog.
  This APAR provides the following enhancement to support the
  above enhancement of IMS provided ACBGEN utility.
  - The Advanced ACBGEN utility can optionally output a list of
    the generated ACB members to a data set referenced by the
    ACBCATWK DD statement same as IMS provided ACBGEN utility
    does. For details about the ACBCATWK DD statement, see the
    latest IMS System Utilities for the IMS V12.
