Error description

• SUMMARY: Executing the /usr/bin/pwd on HP-UX 11.31 within a
  recently created directory within a view/vob context can
  periodically result in the following error message
  
  Note: APAR PM31714 can complicate this issue.  Please reference
  and/or take necessary steps to resolve this APAR first.
  
  WORKAROUND: retry the command after waiting 30 or more seconds;
  otherwise, none

  Occasionally, system facilities such as the 'pwd' command
  and the 'getcwd' function and its equivalents will fail when
  executed from within a newly created directory under control
  of the ClearCase MVFS.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available in ClearCase versions 7.1.2.8 and 8.0.0.4
