  • HD Pointer Checker(HDPC) issues MSGFABP1953E incorrectly when
running the HASH Check for a HDAM or HIDAM database in which a
root segment has a hierarchical forward pointer.

* USERS AFFECTED: IBM IMS High Performance Pointer Checker for *
*                 z/OS Version 3 Release 1 (FMID=HPC2310)      *
*                 users who run HD Pointer Checker (HDPC) with *
*                 the HASH Check function.                     *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: HDPC erroneously issues MSGFABP1953E    *
*                      when running the HASH Check function.   *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
****************************************************************
When the following conditions are met, HDPC erroneously issues
MSGFABP1953E:
- HDPC is run with the HASH check function.
- A root segment in a HDAM or HIDAM database has a hierarchical
  forward (HF) pointer.
- Dependent segments in the HDAM or HIDAM database have physical
  parent (PP) pointers.

Problem conclusion

  • The modules FABPHSDA and FABPHPUT are modified to fix the error.
