Error description

  • Displaying a record on CQWeb v. 8.0.0.1 which contains more than
    50 referenced records (child records) is taking longer than CQ
    7.1.2.
    
    Problem is reproducible with CQWeb server installed on Windows
    and Linux
    
    In FF, it causes the following browser warning:
    'A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped
    responding.'
    
    You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the
    script will complete.

    The error appears with the option 'Continue' or 'Stop script'
    and the choice to 'Don't ask me again'. If 'Continue' is
    selected the same error appears 10 seconds later each 50 child
    records are loaded. If the record contains more that 1500
    (customer's case) then the record does not load.
    If you choose 'Don't ask me again', the error is not popping up
    until you restart the browser.
    
    Steps to reproduce:
    1- Add more than 200 'Customer' records to ClearQuest
    DefectTracking OOB schema database.
    2- Open CQ client and modify a record adding to it number of
    Customer records, i.e. 50, 100 or 150.
    3- Launch the record in CQWeb, either by searching for record id
    or running a query.
    4- Go to tab: Customer
    Expected behavior: All customer records are listed within
    seconds.
    Observed behavior:
    - In IE, depending on the number of customer records, it takes
    longer time to display or just hangs.
    - In FF it returns the error above loading each 50 records or
    hangs if the number is too high.

Problem conclusion
