APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The 6.2 FTP server returns "550 '.' not found" instead of a list
    of files in response to an NLST request for a BFS directory
    followed by a single period. For example, the command:
       NLST /../VMBFS:VMSYS:VMINST/.
    returns:
       550 '. not found
    However, both the 6.1 FTP server and the 6.2 command:
       OPENVM LISTFILE /../VMBFS:VMSYS:VMINST/.
    return a list of files as expected.

Problem summary

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A LIST command that specifies the dot *
    * as parameter shows no members in the *
    *                      BFS file system.                        *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY PTF                                    *
    ****************************************************************
    A LIST of a directory in the BFS file system shows no members
    when only the dot is given as parameter. The common FTP server
    behaviour is to show all members of either the specified or the
    current directory. This APAR fixes the problem.

Problem conclusion

  • The FTP server module SRVRFTP.MODULE has been updated to support
    a dot as parameter for the LIST or NLST command in the BFS file
    system.
