APAR status

Error description

• FTE reported a failure to write to disk via the following
  message:
  "BFGUT0004E: An internal error has occurred. An unexpected
  condition has occurred that has resulted in the abnormal end of
  this process. Failure data could not be captured.'. The process
  then hung. No FFDC message was generated. FTE should always
  capture failure data whenever a failure occurs.
   This APAR is raised to correct the code to generate for
  diagnostic purpose an FFDC message to the event log if there
  is a failure to write to disk.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• In some circumstances IBM WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition may
  be unable to write an FFDC to disk. The disk may be full for
  example. In such cases the product would discard the collected
  data and the reason for the failure or ABEND would be lost.

Problem conclusion

• The code which collects data in the event of failure and
  attempts to write an FFDC or ABEND file to disk has been altered
  to write the captured information to the agent's output0.log if
  it is unable to write the FFDC or ABEND file.
  
  This could still fail if the agent fails to append to the log
  file for the same reason it failed to write the FFDC or ABEND
  file. But in many cases this should ensure the failure
  information is still captured.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
  pack 7.0.4.2.
