Error description
Abends occur if StatisticsMajorInterval=0 is set. The JOBLOG of the execution group is showing the following: ABENDB78 RC=5C at ImbEventNotification::RegisterToListen(RcRsVal*). ABENDB78 RC=5C means: A program attempted to obtain user key (8-F) storage from a CSA subpool, and ALLOWUSERKEYCSA(NO) was specified in a DIAGxx PARMLIB member. There is only one place where Broker invokes the STORAGE (OBTAIN) macro for subpool 228 (CSA) and uses key 8. This is when Broker attempts to register to listen for event notification using the ENF timer. The Broker runs in key 8 and accesses all of its storage on the heap using key 8. Since z/OS changed the default of the ALLOWUSERKEYCSA parameter to NO, accessing storage in CSA using key 8 is no longer possible. z/OS broker customers who want to use the external method of notification (the ENF timer) for statistics and accounting archive records, should run with ALLOWUSERKEYCSA(NO), so WebSphere Message Broker has been changed to access CSA storage using key 7.
