APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When upgrading IBM Rational ClearCase from any 7.1.2.x version
  to 7.1.2.5, the 'exports.mvfs' file is overwritten with a
  default one and does not keep the one that was modified
  previously.
  
  
  Step to reproduce:
  Upgrade ClearCase on Red Hat 4 or 5 normally.
  
  
  WORKAROUND:
  Before the upgrade process, save the modified 'exports.mvfs'
  file, then run the upgrade and replace the default
  'exports.mvfs' after the upgrade completes with the backup of
  the modified copy.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• ClearCase upgrades overwrote the exports.mvfs file during the
  upgrade process, removing customizations.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available in ClearCase versions 7.1.2.7
