APAR status

Error description

  • In IBM Rational ClearCase on Windows, if a scheduled job is
    configured to run  the task labeled 'Standard ClearCase Weekly
    Tasks' (Task.Id 2), it will fail with the error 'The system
    cannot find the path specified'.
    
    NOTE: By default, there are no existing ClearCase jobs set to
    use this task. The issue will only be seen if a default job is
    modified to use this task, or if a custom job is set to use it.
    
    
    Steps to reproduce the issue:
    
    1) Launch the ClearCase Administrative Console.
    
    2) Expand ClearCase > My Host > Schedule Jobs.
    
    3) Right-click in Scheduled Jobs and select New > Job.
    
    4) Create Job name 'Test', selecting 'Standard ClearCase Weekly
    Tasks' and hit OK.
    
    5) The new job will automatically run and fail shortly
    thereafter.
    
    6) Right-click the new 'Test' job and select 'Show Completion
    Details' to view the error.
    
    
    WORKAROUND:
    
    Edit the ccase_wk.bat file located in
    <INSTALL-DIRECTORY>\ClearCase\config\scheduler\tasks to change
    the following line from:
    
    ---
    ..\..\bin\ccperl mvfs_log_scrubber.pl
    ---
    
    to:
    
    ---
    ccperl mvfs_log_scrubber.pl
    ---

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available in ClearCase versions 7.1.1.9, 7.1.2.6
    and 8.0.0.2
