Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' SORT ROWS command on
  panel ADB21T 'Tables, Views, and Aliases' fails with:
   Function : TBSORT &$TABLE FIELDS(CARD,N,A)
  
   Retcode  : 16
   Zerrmsg  : ISPT106
   Zerrsm   : Value too large
   Zerrlm   : The sort field '3405312905     ' was too large to
   convert to binary.

  The ISPF TBSORT function does not support sorting
  numeric values larger than 2**31-1.
  

Problem conclusion

• If a sort is requested on a column than contains values that
  ISPF TBSORT does not support, the column will be sorted as a
  character column and warning message ADB253W "Sort on numeric
  field performed as a sort on a character field" will be issued.
