Error description

  • You run the Generalized Linear Models procedure with an offset
variable and request that predicted means be saved.
The offset variable has negative values for some or all of the
cases. If some of the offset variable values are
nonnegative, then the procedure runs in either Statistics 19 or
Statistics 20 without error or warning messages and output
    (coefficients, etc.) is printed
in the viewer. In the Data Viewer of the Data Editor, you see
that a new variable has been created to hold the
predicted means. However, all cases with negative values on the
offset variable are system missing on the predicted means
variable. Only cases with nonnegative offset values have values
    in the predicted means variable.

In Statistics 20, you see a different result if all of the
cases have negative values on the offset variable. In that
    version,
with all cases having negative offset values, the GENLIN
    procedure stops with the warning:
"Unexpected internal error occurred in the GZLM component.
    Please contact Technical Support.
    Execution of this command stops".
You check the Data Editor and see that the variable for the
    predicted means was not created.
