APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Lots of "KD200032W RULEN(==) **** NOT NUMERIC **** "
messages shown in CUA log.  High CPU occurred in OMEG/DB2 CUA
task.

This problem (CPU spikes and RULEN(==) **** NOT NUMERIC ****)
could be recreated when CUA main menu KD2001 was refreshed while
DB2 subsystem was down.

Local fix

  • 1) not refresh CUA screen when DB2 is down.

2) There is an option in CUA "Auto Refresh Interval"
   (in Options-->2. Controls) which can request a refresh
   automatically.
   Please set it to OFF to avoid the refreshing of CUA screen
   automatically.
   "Auto Refresh Interval" with any value causes CUA STC to
   spike up constantly to a very high CPU consumption when DB2
   is down.

3) If you use Omegaview, please do likewise to avoid the same
   problem.
   There is an option in Omegaview "Session update interval"
   (in Tools-->3. Configuration manager, type C=Change for CUA
   session name)
   Set "Session update interval" for CUA STC to larger value to
   avoid often refreshes.
