Error description

  • QCF not releasing ECSA storage after IMS normal shutdown.
    There are blocks of 1104 bytes in Subpool 231 Key 7 which are
    not getting released. SP231 PK7
    
    Additional symptom fixed:
    ABEND0C4 PIC11 IQCCIN00 near x'39e' (R1 R9 R13 have same
    address which we couldn't access).

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of QCF3.1. No abends or other      *
    *                 errors. Some ECSA storages are not released  *
    *                 at IMS shutdown and used ECSA builds up.     *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Several QCF programs obtain ECSA,       *
    *                      but do not release it properly at the   *
    *                      end of IMS run. Programs are changed to *
    *                      release the storage. No QCF ECSA shows  *
    *                      anymore after IMS shutdown.             *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF      *
    ****************************************************************
    Programs are changed to release ECSA storage. Install the APAR
    to avoid used ECSA storage building up.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Install the APAR and restart the control region.
