APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In HPEL Logging mode,
    1. expand content and filtering details
    2. enter TRAS* for value in message contents field
    3. click apply
    
    Error dialog pops up to say "Content and Filtering details
    Form contains invalid values.  Please correct form.
    After clearing the dialog, a yellow triangle shows that both
    minimum level and maximum level dropdowns must be filled in.
    
    Note that selecting the blank value for both minimum level and
    maximum level makes problem go away.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Instead of applying the                 *
    *                      user-specified message content          *
    *                      filter to the logs view, an error       *
    *                      dialog pops up to incorrectly           *
    *                      indicate that the user is required to   *
    *                      provide a minimum and a maxium level    *
    *                      as a filter.  Users should not be       *
    *                      required to provide a minimum or        *
    *                      maximum level filter.                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:  Select FINEST for maximum and FATAL for     *
    *                  minimum level to get the equivalent of no   *
    *                  filtering on levels.                        *
    ****************************************************************
    The form validation for the fields had required a name to be
    selected for min and max levels.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The fix allows the form to pass validation if the value is
    blank in the cases where users do not want to filter the level.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.0.0.2.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
