Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 using the administrative * * console * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Instead of applying the * * user-specified message content * * filter to the logs view, an error * * dialog pops up to incorrectly * * indicate that the user is required to * * provide a minimum and a maxium level * * as a filter. Users should not be * * required to provide a minimum or * * maximum level filter. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Select FINEST for maximum and FATAL for * * minimum level to get the equivalent of no * * filtering on levels. * **************************************************************** The form validation for the fields had required a name to be selected for min and max levels.
Problem conclusion
The fix allows the form to pass validation if the value is blank in the cases where users do not want to filter the level. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.2.
