Error description

  • When executing a MEANS command on Windows 64-bit using the
    default 'LIGHT' table rendering, this causes the SPSS Statistics
    application to crash and disappear if a SPLIT FILE is used and
    one of the splits does not contain any valid cases.

    Executing the same procedure in Windows 32-bit or Mac OSx does
    not cause any problems and the command is executed correctly.

    Console messages:
    Unhandled exception
    Type=Segmentation error vmState=0x00000000

Local fix

  • Setting TABLERENDER=FULL, also known as the Legacy Table
    rendering will allow this procedure to execute as expected
    without any application crashing.
